Meet the Executive team
Matthew Sanchez | Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder

Matt co-founded VideoEgg, now SAY Media, with two Yale classmates in late 2004. Prior to VideoEgg he co-founded a production company focused on helping non-profits develop cost-effective public service announcements. Matt is a member of YPO and serves on the board of the Yale Entrepreneurial Society. He holds a BS from Yale University.
Troy Young | President

Troy joined SAY's predecessor, VideoEgg as CMO in 2006 to build the company’s advertising offering and establish a leadership position in the online video advertising market. Prior to SAY's predecessor, VideoEgg, Troy was EVP, Chief Experience Officer at Organic, one of the world’s leading digital marketing agencies. In this capacity he provided strategic leadership to clients and teams across the Organic network. Troy joined the company as Managing Director in 1999. Over the years he was worked with dozens of leading brands including 20th Century Fox, DaimlerChrysler, Honda, CondeNast, Bell Canada, Janus and American Express. Troy’s work in interactive media dates back to 1992, when he worked on the launch and management of Babylon, the first newspaper-owned online service in Canada. Troy later worked in marketing and sales at CTV, Canada’s largest television network. Prior to joining Organic, Troy was a Co-Founder and Managing Director of Vickers & Benson Direct, Interactive (now Arnold Worldwide), a pioneer in integration of online and direct marketing. Troy has held board and advisory positions with several Internet and marketing firms and currently serves on the board of Viigo, a leading mobile platform company. He is a graduate of the Queen’s University Business School.
David Lerman | Chief Technology Officer & Co-Founder

While in college, David Lerman was a developer on MIT's learning management system, conducting research in cognitive neuroscience and applications of technology to evolutionary psychology. Lerman also co-founded MediaLiquid with Sanchez and Sladek prior to SAY's predecessor, VideoEgg. David holds a B.S. in Computer Science and Psychology from Yale University.
Ben Trott | Chief Technology Officer

Ben drives the product and technology teams behind the SAY Media suite of conversational marketing and engagement media ad products, as well as the company's publishing platforms, TypePad and Movable Type. Prior to his role as co-CTO of SAY Media, Ben Trott co-founded Six Apart, where he served as Chief Technology Officer. Named one of Fast Company's Fast 50 for 2004, Ben contributes regularly to CPAN (the Comprehensive Perl Archive Network) and has written for Perl.com. He lives in San Francisco with his wife, SAY Media board member, and former co-founder of Six Apart, Mena G. Trott and their daughter, Penelope.
Sam Parker | Chief Operating Officer

As Chief Operating Officer, Sam manages the company’s media organization, operations, product and technology teams, and aids in enabling the integration of acquired companies. In this role, he contributes to strategic decisions that set the future direction of the company. Sam joins SAY Media with nearly 20 years of experience as a business, operational and product development executive. He previously served as CBS Interactive’s senior vice president, operations, responsible for the IT Operations, Revenue Systems, and Shared Applications and Services used across the CBS Interactive portfolio of brands. Sam joined CNET Networks in 1996 as director of business development. Soon after, he became vice president of product development for the company's Snap.com portal initiative. After the launch of Snap! and a 20 percent investment by NBC, Parker moved to Snap! LLC. After Snap! went public as NBCi in 2000, he went to 12 Entrepreneuring as the director of product strategy. Sam returned to CNET Networks in 2001 as senior vice president of Global Publishing Services. In June 2008 CNET Networks was purchased by CBS Interactive and Sam migrated into his most recent role. He also served as a member of the executive committee, reporting directly to the president of CBS Interactive. Sam began his career as a product manager and evangelist at Apple. He earned his BA in History from Yale University.
David Richter | Chief Strategy Officer

As Chief Strategy Officer, David works closely with SAY Media’s product, engineering, marketing and sales teams to further develop and implement the company's strategy for corporate acquisitions and strategic alliances. In addition to corporate and business development, David leads SAY’s capital raising efforts and is its chief legal officer. David has nearly 20 years of experience as a corporate and business development executive and legal counsel. Before joining SAY, he most recently served as executive vice president, Corporate Development, of Sonic Solutions, a leading video-on-demand provider acquired by Rovi (NASDAQ: ROVI) in February 2011. Before that, David was executive vice president, Business and Legal Affairs, at DivX, Inc., a digital media company acquired by Sonic Solutions in October 2010, where he led its business and corporate development, product and legal teams. David is a graduate of Yale Law School and Cornell University.
Chris Tobin | Vice President, People and Places

As Vice President of People and Places, Chris is responsible for the Human Resources, Information Technology and Facilities teams. In this role, he brings together the functions that drive employee experience and develops SAY's culture of high performance, collaboration and innovation. Prior to joining SAY Media, Chris held senior HR and Organization Development leadership roles at eBay, Sun Microsystems, and Pacific Gas and Electric Company. Chris holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP).
